    UNION SPRINGS: Murvill E. Salls, 80, of Union Springs, died Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2007, in Auburn Memorial Hospital. Mr. Salls was born in Syracuse, the son of the late, John and Annie Morrow Salls, and resided in the Union Springs area for the past 20 years. Prior to that he lived in Auburn.

    Mr. Salls served in the U.S. Army during W.W.II and was employed by Hares and Weeks Plumbing and Heating Company for 10 years. Before that he worked for Ashland Company for 30 years. He was a member of the Walter T. Conley American Legion Post 1107 of Union Springs.

    Surviving are one daughter, Sharon K. Salls, of Union Springs; one son, James A. Salls and his wife, Penny of Union Springs; one brother, Lyle M. Salls, of Florida; one sister, Darlene Verna Salls, of Florida; six grandchildren, Todd A. Salls and his wife, Linda of Union Springs, Trisha A. Collier and her husband, Bernie of Moravia; Amy L. Jeffers and her husband, James of Auburn; Steven J. Salls, of Union Springs, Susan M. Silvers, of Tallahassee, Fla., and Sara L. Willis and her husband, Clayton, of Union Springs; 14 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

    Mr. Salls was predeceased by his wife, Anne F. Walters who died in 1998.

    Friends are invited to call 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 31, at the Shakelton Funeral Home, 418 Main St., Aurora. Funeral service will be Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Shakelton Funeral Home at a time to be announced. Interment will be at Chestnut Hill Cemetery, Union Springs, with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Walter T. Conley American Legion Post 1107, Union Springs, NY 13160 in memory of Mr. Salls.
