Notes |
- George was born in USA enroute to Canada in a field near Albany, New York, that is why he was given the middle name, Field.
He was one of 111 members listed in the 1804-1823 minutes of the Nelson Masionic Lodge of Clarenceville, Quebec, Canada. George agreed to pay Daniel Salls' (1784-1845) part of the fee for registration in the Grand Lodge of England under the District Grand Lodge at Montreal, Quebec, Canada. This difference of opinion resulted in a split into two lodges. (Source: Freemasonry in Bedford, Quebec, Canada, by: Homer A. Mitchell, Past Grand Master, 124 pages published about 1945.)
He was the defendant in several actions in the Commissioners Court: 1836 - Document 52; March 18,1837 - Document 178; July 15, 1837 - Document 233 for notes of hand. Judgements were against the defendant. Another action, Document 177, was withdrawn.
George was a co-sponsor of several baptisms in Clarenceville, Quebec, Canada: September 26, 1819 with Elizabeth Danford (1783-1857) & Phebe Wait at the baptism of Phebe Roxana Gibbs; October 22, 1820 with Rebecca Salls (1800) at the baptism of Betsy & George Field Fadden; October 29, 1820 with Benjamin Salls (1780) at the baptism of John Bunker; September 22, 1822 with Jacob Salls (1785) at the baptism of Abraham Wait, son of Enoch & Sally Wait; unknown date with Abraham Salls (ca 1801-1876) & Elizabeth Danford (1783-1857) at the baptism of Ira Flagg, Jr., son of Ira & Nancy Flagg.
