- Abraham was listed as Abraham Searls (or Searles) in the New York State Kings District tax dated December 12, 1779. Abraham's real estate was valued at 25 pounds, his personal property valued at 4 pounds. The total tax on real estate & personal propety was 5 shillings 16 pence.(see also Isaac Salls (ca.1730 - 1800) for more information).
He left Canaan, New York in 1784 & settled on farm lot number 17 in Caldwell Manor, 5th Concession Foucalt, which is now Noyan, Quebec, Canada.
He signed a petition on January 2, 1795 for rent relief in Caldwell Manor, Quebec, Canada. He was granted lot number 1-6 in Potten Township, Quebec, Canada on June 1, 1803. Abraham recieved one of the first land grants in Stanstead Township, Quebec, Canada, which was organized September 27, 1800.
He was one of the 111 members listed by name in the minutes of the Nelson Masonic Lodge of Clarenceville, Quebec, Canada dated 1804 to 1823.
Abraham signed his name as Abram Salls on several church records in Clarenceville, Quebec, Canada as witness to:
(1) the marriage of Gilbert Bush & Lovicy Smith on July 12, 1818 in Clarenceville, Quebec, Canada.
(2) the mariage of Orange Spoor & Jane Friot on September 23, 1818 in Clarenceville, Quebec, Canada (with co-witness Benjamin Salls(1796-1865)).
(3) the mariage of John Scott & Mary Spoor (the widow of John Spoor) on May 7, 1821.
(4) the interment of widow Jane Coulton on September 12,1821 (with co-witness Ira Flagg, his son-in-law).
